Best Buddy

Anneli has a best buddy which most have seen and are familiar with as her "doggie". They are inseparable, wherever Anneli goes that stuffed dog comes along too. She plays in the dirt with it, mops the floor with it, uses it as her napkin, kleenex, and teether...It gets weekly baths in the washer, thankfully I've convinced Anneli it doesn't belong in the bathtub.

Where's Anneli

One of Anneli's favorite games to play is peek a boo. I can almost always get her to play along which is a great distraction for when she's upset over a bumped elbow or knee.

cold season

Well, the one good thing about the cold season at least for our household seems to be that the fast pace of life slows down a bit the day to day activities don't seem quite as important to be involved in and we can just relax at home. Today for instance everyone including myself were feeling a bit under the weather so we all snuggled on the couch enjoying each others company...well besides the sniffles and coughing. Anneli who isn't one to stay in one place for long still seems the most active of the bunch. She didn't feel like being snuggly and she was soon off running about. She is often found trying to put on her boots to go outside and play, she is a lively happy little girl who adds a lot of excitement to our family.

silly goose

Anneli is officially walking, she has been attempting to walk for a few weeks but has used crawling as her preference for getting around up until just a few days ago. Her walking has brought a new adventurous side to my sweet little girl. I keep finding her in the funniest spots. We have a sheet up in front of our living room window so it keeps the drafts out. She has found it great fun to place herself in between the sheets where she thinks she's invisible. She also loves to climb in cardboard boxes. It all started when Hunter thought it would be a kick to put Anneli in a cardboard box and pull her around. Well she was all giggles and thought that was one of the greatest things ever. She now climbs in any little box or basket she can find, some of which are a bit small for her. She squeezes herself in them anyway, and a few attemps at sitting in the box and trying to move herself she finds that she needs daddy's help.
Every day she does something that makes us laugh. This evening she dumped out all her toys out of the toy basket and climbed in it, and then started putting the toys back in with her still sitting in it.

Merry Christmas

Anneli testing out her walking legs. She took 10 steps the other day! She has to be in the right mood though because she hasn't attempted to walk since.

Well we had another fun and exciting Christmas. This year Anneli joined in on some of the excitement. My sister and brother-in-law came with their little girl Anneke. It was fun having the two cousins together.

Anneli giving her cousin kisses

Anneli wasn't exactly thrilled with getting a crockpot for Christmas....she'll just have to wait and see what comes out of it.

Still snowing

Well the snow storms are still blowing in. We now have 18 inches of snow! The next storm is scheduled for Christmas Eve. Our compact cars are buried but my dad is still getting around with the truck. He's been running errands for friends that can't get out. Taking care of the animals is more of a challenge. Yesterday there was a layer of ice on top of a foot of snow and each step my boots would get stuck it didn't help that I was carrying a 50# bag of feed. But I have been asking for snow every year for my birthday for many years and this year we had an abundance of it.

I think there's a car under there?

Fun in the snow

This is in our front yard a few days ago. We now have over a foot of snow in some places! This picture was taken before Anneli started crying. She doesn't care much to be out in the snow but enjoys staying in by the fire. Every once in awhile I'll hear her say "doooohh" which is her word for the white fluffy stuff outside. It has been blizzard conditions today and none of us feel much like venturing out in it. Looks like we will have a white Christmas!
